The King
The King
What Is It: 'A Great Man Doesn't Seek to Lead, He's Called to It and He Answers'.
Within Western Society, we've seen an explosion of teachings around 'Becoming the Alpha Male' or 'How to Be a Superior Man'. Most of these teachings tend to focus on how to overpower your peers, attain massive amounts of material wealth, or anchor into an overly-simplified construct of Polarity with a Romantic Partner.
Regardless, the proliferation of these teachings clearly indicate that the collective unconscious is desperately trying to seek out and understand 'Healthy Masculinity' and its role within our society.
Yet, with political leaders masked in 'Shadow Energies', Corporate Executives solely concerned with their own Greed, we truly lack healthy role-models.
Becoming the 'King' is not about doing, but rather a spiritual act of 'Becoming'.
How Does It Happen- There's this notion within Mainstream Society, that our Masculine-Oriented Leaders are those who always had it 'together'. They were the Star Athlete, Valedictorian, and Mr. Popular. However, the energy of 'Kingship' is one that the Psyche and
Energetic-Self mature into over time. No one is truly born a Leader, but some are called to step into it over the course of their Life and it is usually a messy process.
Carl Jung did a great job of showcasing that before a Man's Psyche is ready to anchor in 'Healthy Masculinity', it must complete and play out certain archetypal energies as well as transmute aspects of 'Boyhood Consciousness'.
This means that for the Masculine to fully embody 'Healthy Masculinity' they must work through and transcend archetypal constructs around 'The Hero', 'The Jester' and 'Casanova'. This is a deep inward journey and asks for a Man to be humble while working through his shortcomings.
How Does It Happen (Part 2) 'Learn to Preserve and not to Destroy simply for Destruction's Sake'. If a Man tries to step into the energy of the 'King' before he is ready, he will often be acting out the shadow-constructs of this energy. Typically, he will be weak and not know how to act from his own internal state of Power and Truth, or he will be overly Destructive and seek to control others through his own lack of internalized safety and security.
Stepping into the Energy of Healthy Masculine Leadership often centers around learning how to Protect/Preserve for the good of others, utilizing practices around Stoicism, having clear awareness of one's own Weaknesses and Strengths, while also being able to channel the Self through a Creative-Vehicle.
Now, there's a lot of confusion around the concept of 'Stoicism'. However, it's of utmost importance that Masculine Leadership be in tune with their feelings without being driven by them.
How It Impacts Us- Stepping into the energy of 'The King' is no simple task. It is not about valiantly saving others for one's own glamour, or constantly showcasing how one can beat or defeat others around them.
Rather, it's a journey that asks us to become open and receptive to all the aspects of oneself we've buried or put away out of 'Fear'. It asks us to be willing to be 'different', to go against the grain of society, while also not running away into self-exile but having the willingness to integrate and provide one's own gifts and strengths purely for the betterment of the collective good.
One who has been tasked by the Higher-Self to carry the energy of the King must be willing to confront their own Fragmented Inner-Child, to embrace and move through old feelings of Helplessness until they can anchor into the true energy of 'Healthy Power', and one must also encounter their own 'Shadows' without letting it drive them or corrupt them.
How It Impacts Us (Part 2)- Anchoring into the energy of 'The King' is one that is riddled with paradoxes. We must be willing to put others above ourselves while also not sacrificing ourselves on the behalf of others recklessly.
We must develop the skill of 'Discernment' in which we are constantly seeing beyond the mechanism of 'Black & White thinking' so we can find the gray and nuance within the world around us that many others will miss.
We must be willing to see the worst in people and the best as well. We must understand that the Human Psyche is often driven through Fear, Greed, and Anger while being aware that everyone's Soul is filled with 'Love and Compassion'. We must acknowledge that some will try to betray and rip us apart but to also not succumb to shame and impulses of revenge that such acts will imprint in us. We must have the capacity to allow others into our space and assist us as no 'King' can truly lead himself and others alone.
'The Queen & Everything In Between'- This post is centered around the energy of the Masculine-Oriented Leader because it is missing in the collective-conscious more than any other archetype. The truth is, we need individuals who are highly attuned to the Masculine Pole to embark on the inward journey necessary to lead others.
However, Leadership is certainly not exclusive to a 'Gender', but it will express itself in different ways relative to where one find themselves on the spectrum of Yin-Yang Energy. Those who are more oriented to the 'Feminine' tend to collectively be at a much higher level of consciousness than the Masculine. They understand how to build a business, take care of their family, while also being deeply attuned to their own internal environment and feelings. However, the world needs balance, so while the 'Feminine' certainly has a plethora of 'Queens & Everything in Between' we also need our Kings to arise and synergize.
'New-Age Masculinity & Red-Pill Ideology'- Many of the mainstream teachings around Masculinity certainly have elements of truth but are largely missing the mark. The 'New-Age Spiritual Sphere' while often well-intentioned in its teachings towards Men can actually leave many feeling more confused and disconnected from Self.
While Masculine-Oriented individuals are certainly emotionally repressed in our society, the answer to this is not to have them become 'Flowey' buttercups who's entire actions and decisions are driven through momentary Feeling-Based impulses.
Yet, the Red-Pill Ideology that has also arisen in response to Men's Apathy and Depression is often very destructive to the Masculine's Mental Health and Wellbeing too.
The Masculine certainly needs to be more assertive and courageous than what we currently see in the collective, but we shouldn't put our sole focus on those qualities while neglecting the Heart.
